Policy Areas: Financing
Many challenges face the new entrepreneur, equipped with a good idea and a desire to grow a business. Even if he or she does have enough knowledge about the industry and its managerial commitments there may still be a major bump in the road to success - financing. Without the appropriate influx of capital at the right times even a brilliantly planned business can fail. The most visible, and sought-after, form of financing is venture capital. More often than not, however, seed money and start-up capital comes from friends and relatives, personal credit cards, government backed loans and grants, and an increasing number of angel investing groups.
