Forum returns to East & Southeast Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, TX -- The Public Forum Institute will again help facilitate a summit on economic growth in east and southeast Fort Worth. Chaired by Congressman Michael Burgess, M.D., the summit aims to find consensus on strategies to create jobs and develop a sustainable urban District that is self-thriving and sufficient.

Global Entrepreneurship Week
Continues to Grow

WASHINGTON, DC -- What started as a US-only project to inspire young people to be more innovative and creative has turned into a massive global movement – with the Public Forum Institute leading the way. In 2007, PFI worked with the Kauffman Foundation to create Entrepreneurship Week USA and build a national network of more than 1,000 organizations that planned activities in all 50 states. In three years, the initiative has expanded to 88 countries with more than 7 million people participating in 32,000 activities during Global Entrepreneurship Week each November.

Russell Simmons hosts Race to BE.

NEW YORK, NY -- Hip-hop pioneer and entrepreneur Russell Simmons hosted the Race to BE, a nationwide competition to encourage young people to leverage their artistic abilities in film, music and fashion into entrepreneurial endeavors. The Race was the signature event of Global Entrepreneurship Week/USA, an initiative organized by the Public Forum Institute to shape the next generation of entrepreneurs.

New York summit highlights sustainable energy

SARATOGA, NY -- Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand served as honorary chair of a summit on development and energy for upstate New York. Community leaders and citizens discussed Access to Capital and Tax Credits, Best Energy Practices Across the Country, and Opportunities in the Capitol Region.

75 countries join Global Entrepreneurship Week

A first-ever worldwide entrepreneurship event that is expected to involve millions of young people is taking shape. Seventy-five countries have currently signed on to support and initiate activities for Global Entrepreneurship Week, Nov. 17-23, 2008. This inaugural Week will engage young people around the world to encourage them to pursue entrepreneurial ideas and opportunities through activities with the support of entrepreneurs, government officials, non-profit leaders and educators.

Summary report details recommendations for economic growth, renewable energy in Houston area

PEARLAND, TX -- Community leaders in the Houston metropolitan area developed a series of recommended action items for economic growth at a summit led by Congressman Nick Lampson and co-chaired by twelve local mayors.  The  recommendations addressed four primary areas: education, entrepreneurship, renewable energy and smart growth.
