2005 East and Southeast Fort Worth Economic Summit
Congressman Michael Burgess, Honorary Summit Chair
June 3, 2005
Fort Worth, Texas

Workshop Descriptions

Attracting Investment

Moderator: Devoyd Jennings, President, Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce

Panelists

  • Bill Thornton, President, Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce

  • Robert Sturns, Business Development Coordinator, City of Fort Worth

  • Dan Villegas, CEO, Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Central to any effort to shape the economic future of a region, the summit will consider ideas to foster an economic environment that will attract investment in – and development of – new and growing businesses in east and southeast Fort Worth. Currently, the area lacks an investment champion, someone who will promote and advocate for the area with their words and their wallet. The summit will seek to identify such a champion while complementing the successful efforts already underway by local chambers of commerce and economic development organizations.
