Dr. Greg Olsen
Founder and former President
Sensors Unlimited

Gregory H. Olsen, Ph.D. was the founder and Chairman of the Board of Sensors Unlimited, a Princeton, NJ high-tech manufacturer of infrared detector arrays and cameras and avalanche photodiodes. He is an IEEE Fellow, holder of ten patents, former RCA Labs employee (1972-1984) and holds a Ph.D. Materials Science from the Univ. Virginia (1971). In October 2000, Sensors was purchased by Finisar Corp. for $700 million, shortly after he led the employee “buy back” of Sensors Unlimited from Finisar Corp., in October 2002. Just recently in October 2005, Sensors was purchased by Goodrich Corp. for $60 million.

Dr. Olsen, an advanced technology pioneer and renowned entrepreneur, was recently confirmed by Space Adventures, Ltd., as the world’s third private space explorer and the first space participant since the Columbia tragedy. Greg launched to the International Space Station on October 1, 2005 on the Soyuz TMA-7 orbital spaceflight mission from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
