Mission & History

The Public Forum Institute is committed to an informed public and the exchange of ideas between the leaders of America and the citizens they serve.

The staff of the Public Forum Institute have organized hundreds of public policy forums in nearly all 50 states. The first forum, The 1981 Idaho Energy Conference, was conducted more than 20 years ago in Boise with then-Congressman Larry Craig (Craig now serves in the U.S. Senate).

Since then, the Forum has gone on to engage tens of thousands of Americans and more than 300 members of Congress in a national discussion on dozens of policy issues.
